Medical and educational tours
Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital is proud to offer a comprehensive and professional tour program for visiting students or health practitioners from overseas.
Tours of our site last for 3 - 3.5 hours, and normally commence with an informative overview of the hospitals history, and an explanation of the Australian health care system. Our tours are then tailored to the specific interests and specialties of the visiting group. For example, if the tour group is interested in ophthalmology, or cancer research, or sexual health, then we tailor the presentation to address these areas and invite special guests to provide their expert insight. Presentations can also cover more general topics such as nursing or medical practice in Australia.
Tours are held in our historical Worrall or Claffy Lecture Theatres, and participants are treated to a delicious Australian style morning or afternoon tea between proceedings.
At the conclusion of presentations, guests are taken on a tour of the hospital site. The tour includes items of historical interest at the site, together with a tour of the clinical block including specialty areas if requested.
Souvenir bags are presented to all guests at the conclusion of their visit.
