NSW Health Patient Survey
The NSW Health Patient Survey has been developed to gain information from patients and carers across NSW about their experiences with health care services. This is only one of several strategies being used by us to gain a complete picture of Patient and Carer experience within the South Eastern Sydney Illawarra Health Service.
For three years commencing in 2007, annual State, Area Health Service and facility/service level survey result reports will be generated. These will highlight stronger and weaker areas of health service delivery and provide actionable data to inform health care and systems improvement initiatives.
The surveys ask questions about all of the dimensions of care that research shows patients value, including:
- access to care
- coordination of care
- patient preferences
- information and education
- physical comfort
- emotional support
- family and friends
- continuity of care and transition after discharge
