The Division provides training for professionals working in the field of HIV and Hepatitis C. The Division is responsible for providing nutrition and infectious disease information to health care workers on a national and international basis. Some of the nutrition training conducted by the division have covered topics including:
- HIV and nutrition
- Nutrition and Hepatitis C
- Nutrition and advanced liver disease (presented by the Australian Liver transplant Unit of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital)
- Nutrition for needle and syringe program workers
- Nutrition in the developing world

The Division disseminates nutrition and infectious disease information through:
- Professional updates
- Newsletters and other community publications
- Websites
- Email discussion groups
- Conferences/Workshops/Seminars/Courses
- University lectures and tutorial
Dietetic student internships.
Placements involve a five or six-week block where Dietetic students gain experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of community based projects.
