Infection Prevention & Control Unit
Established in 1995, the Infection Prevention & Control Unit (IPCU) was to provide an expert reference service in accordance with NSW Health directives, guidelines, policies, and regulations. This service was available to all health care workers in NSW, irrespective of their geographical location or level of infection control knowledge or expertise.
This service was closed in March 2009, however some hand washing posters (see below) remain available for purchase via the contact details below.

SafeHandS: A network for health care worker safety in the Asia-Pacific region.
SafeHandS has been established to provide a forum to share information, support and practical solutions so that health care workers feel safe and encouraged to provide optimal care to their patients. The website provides information about health care worker safety in resource limited settings.

The Infection Prevention & Control Unit, with funding from NSW Health, has developed several hand washing posters. These are the ones that are still available.

The principal aim of the poster series is to promote increased and improved hand washing practices across the state so as to minimise transmission of healthcare associated infections, including those associated with multiple resistant organisms.
The posters are A3 (297mm x 420mm) in size with a matt finish printed on 200gsm art board and are of excellent quality.
