Pharmaceutical care is available to all clients of the Albion Street Centre. Antiretroviral therapy and associated oral HIV treatment is also available to clients seen by authorised community prescribers such as GPs.
The pharmacy also dispenses anti-HIV drugs under the Special Access Scheme. These drugs require monitoring in accordance with the NSW Department of Health and pharmaceutical company requirements. The Centre also provides information on anti-HIV drugs to health care workers and other interested parties.
The main objective of the pharmacy is to maintain a duty of care to the patient by ensuring the appropriateness of therapy, dosage, frequency (ie. when to take the drug and its relationship to food), awareness of potential drug interactions and possible side effects.

The pharmacy aims for effective patient counselling, in areas such as:
- potential adverse effects of the drugs and the ways of overcoming these
- potential drug interactions, including those with certain foods or with over the counter drugs, including herbal and complementary therapies
- compliance, or adherence, in achieving therapeutic response
- benefits of participating in drug trials
