Youth Health Services
Works in collaboration with key stakeholders, relevant agencies and young people both within and external to the health sector to enhance access to appropriate health services by youth.
Many young people face significant challenges in
relation to their health and wellbeing. Young people
also do not fit neatly into mainstream health services
that often target adults or children and they require
health services that are creative, diverse and
responsive to their particular needs.
The Area Youth Health Coordinator is responsible for
developing and maintaining an area wide coordinated
approach to youth health care in order to enhance young
people’s access to health services. Primary functions of
the role include working in collaboration with key
stakeholders, relevant agencies and young people both
within and external to the health sector and
facilitating and supporting youth health activities and
projects.
