BreastScreen NSW
BreastScreen NSW is a free two yearly breast x-ray (mammogram) program to find early breast cancer. Women aged 50-69 years are especially encouraged to take part as the program is most effective at saving lives in this age group. Women aged 40-49 and over 70 years can also attend.
The program is aimed at women who do not show signs of having breast cancer (www.bsnsw.org.au/faq/faq.htm). Those with symptoms are encouraged to see their GP for investigation
The service also runs assessment clinics for those women whose mammogram shows a possible abnormality.
