The Sutherland Hospital
The Sutherland Hospital is a seconding hospital in the Central
Hospital Network with medical staff provided from the larger teaching
hospitals of St George and Prince of Wales Hospital. Sutherland
Hospital is situated 30 km from the CBD of Sydney and 5 km from
the beautiful southern Sydney beaches of Cronulla, Wanda and
Elouera.
The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Services provides more
than just hospital services. There is a comprehensive range of
community-based child, youth, family and aged care services
available.
The 320-bed hospital provides terms for registrars and JMOs in the
following specialties: Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Medical (including
Cardiology, Respiratory, Neurology, Aged Care,
Gastroenterology, Oncology, Stroke, Critical Care, Rehabilitation and
Mental Health Services).
Many of the general wards have been given names from the Dharrawal
language of the Aboriginal people from this Area.
