HIV Community Team

HIV Community Team - "Team Photo taken at the Planning Day 2009".The HIV Community Team is a multidisciplinary outreach team providing confidential health care services for people living with or closely affected by HIV across the South Eastern Sydney Illawarra region. This region comprises 13 local government areas including: Botany, Hurstville, Kiama, Kogarah, Randwick, Rockdale, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven, Sutherland, City of Sydney (part of), Waverley, Wollongong and Wollahra.

People living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) may experience a range of acute or chronic health problems and require a number of different services to manage these needs. Challenges encountered may include issues with medication management, mental health, nutrition, housing and finances. The HIV Community Team can play a role in co-ordinating services. 

The HIV Community team can provide advocacy and support around these issues and will work in partnership with other agencies and services to improve the quality of care for clients referred to our service.
