Referrals

The Sutherland Cannabis Clinic will accept referrals from anywhere in NSW. Simply phone (02) 8536 0300. Anyone can self refer. Health care professionals and family members can refer another person with that person's consent.
 
When a referral is received a counsellor will contact the person to arrange an appointment time. The first session is usually for one to one and a half hours. Subsequent sessions are for about an hour. After the session the counsellor will provide supporting information for the client to take home, which reinforces or expands on the content covered in the session.

All attendance at the clinic is voluntary. The number of sessions for each client to attend is worked out between the client and the counsellor. Treatment plans can be reviewed in the sessions, so the initial treatment plan might be altered several times depending on how satisfied the client is with their own progress. Staff aim to support, encourage and provide strategies to help the client meet their treatment goals.
