Parents and Partners

Are you concerned about a member of your family who is using cannabis?

Would you like to talk to a professional counsellor about this?

The Sutherland Cannabis Clinic also provides individual information and support sessions for parents and partners who are experiencing emotional stress as a result of a family member using cannabis.

The confidence and self esteem of a parent and partner can be eroded by the effects of drug use in the family. Parents and partners are often frustrated with the family situation and feel powerless to change it. They might be fearful for the person’s health and welfare and be uncertain about their prospects for the future. Cannabis use can trigger moody or angry behaviour which may be directed at parents and partners.

Counsellors at the clinic provide information, support and strategies designed to empower parents and partners to initiate some positive changes in the family.

To organise a free and confidential appointment at the Sutherland Cannabis Clinic for support as a parent or partner please phone (02) 8536 0300 during business hours.

Caringbah Women’s Health and Information Centre

To complement our services at Sutherland, the Cannabis Clinic also provides a free counselling service for women at the Caringbah Women’s Health & Information Centre. Due to the policies of this centre, the service is restricted to women who have concerns about a family member using cannabis. Appointments are available on Friday mornings between 9.30am and 12.30pm and can be made by phoning (02) 8536 0300.
