AHAC Members
In addition to the Chair, Associate Professor Bob Farnsworth, the membership of the South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Advisory Council comprises six clinicians and six consumers from a variety of backgrounds.
The members are:

Associate Prof Bob Farnsworth OAM is
Clinical Program Director of Surgery at Prince of Wales Hospital and Head of
the Paediatric Urology Department at Sydney Children’s Hospital. He was
awarded a Medal in the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to
medicine, particularly his work as a paediatric urologist. Prof Farnsworth
was one of the first generation of doctors to receive their urology training
in this country rather than overseas. He has been heavily involved in
teaching urologists in NSW for more than 30 years. As a surgeon Prof
Farnsworth was involved in the first renal transplant and has since been
instrumental in establishing world leading urological surgical services
particularly for children and those with a disability. Prof Farnsworth resides in Paddington.

Debbie Cansdell is Nurse Manager of
the operating theatres at The St George Hospital. Ms Cansdell resides at Bonnet Bay.

Dr Maureen Lonergan is a renal physician and is Head of the
Renal Department at The Wollongong Hospital. Dr Lonergan resides at Randwick.

Toni Garretty works as the SESIH
Co-ordinator of the Family and Carer Mental Health Program. Ms Garretty resides
in Wollongong.

Dr Hannah Wright is a GP working
in the Sutherland Shire. She has a strong interest
in community health, having worked in a variety of multidisciplinary teams
in Sydney, the United Kingdom and the
Republic of Ireland. Dr Wright resides in Leichhardt.

Kristina Brenner is a Health Promotion and
Community Development worker at a not-for-profit Women's Health Centre. She
is currently studying Consumer Marketing, with a focus on social marketing
for health initiatives. Ms Brenner resides in Jannali.

Michelina Pelosi is a peer support
officer with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia and has been active within the
disabilities community since 1989. Ms Pelosi resides in Chifley.

Robyn Bignell is an experienced community spokesperson
for a number of organisations
including Wollongong City Council and Lifeline, and as
a member of various community
advisory committees, forums and boards. Ms Bignell resides in Cordeaux
Heights.

Professor of Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital and the University of NSW
and Senior Associate Dean, Faculty of Medicine at the University of New
South Wales. Professor Campbell
